Have fun!...my previous post may have sounded like it was a miserable experience but, in fact, (a few people aside) it was one of the highlights of my stay in Arcata. Sad as that may sound.

Hiya! Haven't been on in a while. Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear your experience with Arcata FNB wasn't a good one. When I moved up here I got in touch with someone who'd been trying to re-start up FNB since February '09. We started cooking at my house, and have been doing it every Saturday since. I'm going to make a new post with more details. :)

Not sure if you're still interested or around but, for what it's worth, I heard that the Arcata FNB was real slap dash and not really a reliable service. My miniscule experience of one single serving picked up a vibe from the peeps running it that was kinda 'more anarchist than thou' in flavor...like organizing the thing enough to even say you were going to serve every, say, Thursday, once a week, was too muchorginization and would kill the spirit of the thing.

Kinda sucked being homeless and wishing to have that great stir fry but never knowing when or if it'd arrive.

But I guess that's not really what it's about anyway....

Hey everyone! I'm moving to Humboldt in June, and had a question. I asked this over at the Humboldt forum on Couchsurfing.com, but haven't got any feedback yet.
Here goes: does anyone know the current state of Arcata Food Not Bombs? I did some google-ing and the most recent thing to pop up involved a protest they served grub at about a year ago. I know a few years ago (and before that even?) the Arcata chapter was harassed and encountered some legal difficulty. Are they still up and running?
Thanks for any info!
